Coon Creek Community Watershed Council Inc.

Watershed Literacy

The work of the CCCWC takes place in a much larger context. The water from the Coon Creek Watershed runs into the Mississippi River and then into the Gulf of Mexico. Communities along the Mississippi suffer recurrent flooding. The Mississippi River was once clean, and the Gulf of Mexico did not have the Hypoxic Zone. What we do here matters. It has the potential to make a difference for our neighbors just downstream, for our neighbors all along the Mississippi River, for our neighbors along the Gulf and for the health of our waters from the Coon Creek to the Gulf of Mexico.

Tap Your Potential is a curriculum developed by professionals throughout the Mississippi River Basin to help grow watershed council leaders.
