Prescribed Fire Training

The Coon Creek Community Watershed Council is partnering with the Coon Valley Conservation Club and the Wisconsin Prescribed Fire Council to host a prescribed fire training at the CVCC grounds. This event will be held April 11th and 12th, with a full-day classroom training on Saturday, April 11, and a hands-on, active burn on Sunday, April 12th. A detailed schedule will be available soon.

This training is perfect for people with limited to no burn experience, and an interest in participating in future burns and burn trainings. Email council@cooncreekwatershed.org to register.

Event schedule is weather dependent. Lunch will be provided both days. Attendees should be prepared to be on their feet for several hours at a time, and comfortable walking up steep grades.

Not up for the burn training but still want to participate? Come watch the burn on Sunday at the Coon Valley Conservation Club, and stick around for grilling and drinks.
